Indomethacin for Injection

INDOMTIV for Injection is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used primarily for its anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic properties. It is typically used in the following situations:

1. Closure of Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA) in Preterm Infants:

   - The primary use of Indomethacin for Injection is in neonatology for the treatment of patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) in premature infants. PDA is a condition where a blood vessel called the ductus arteriosus fails to close after birth, leading to abnormal blood flow. Indomethacin helps to close the PDA by reducing the production of prostaglandins, which keep the ductus arteriosus open.

2. Acute Pain and Inflammation:

   - Indomethacin for Injection may be used for the management of moderate to severe pain and inflammation, especially in patients who are unable to take oral medications. It can be used in conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and gout.

3. Management of Acute Gouty Arthritis:

   - It is sometimes used to treat acute attacks of gout, providing relief from pain and inflammation.

4. Other Inflammatory Conditions:

   - Indomethacin for Injection may be used in other inflammatory conditions, particularly where rapid onset of action is desired and oral administration is not possible.

INDOMTIV  for Injection is typically administered intravenously under the supervision of a healthcare professional. It is important to monitor for potential side effects, such as gastrointestinal irritation, kidney function impairment, and cardiovascular risks, which are associated with NSAIDs.
