Lansoprazole for Injection

LANSVIT for Injection is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used to reduce stomach acid production. It is the injectable form of Lansoprazole, typically used in specific medical scenarios where oral administration is not feasible. The primary uses of Lansoprazole for Injection include:

1. Management of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD):

   - Used to treat severe GERD symptoms, especially in hospitalized patients or those who cannot take oral medications. Lansoprazole helps to reduce acid reflux and heal esophageal inflammation.

2. Treatment of Peptic Ulcers:

   - Effective in treating active peptic ulcers, including duodenal and gastric ulcers, by reducing stomach acid and promoting ulcer healing.

3. Prevention of Stress Ulcers:

   - Used in critically ill patients to prevent stress-related mucosal disease, which can occur due to severe physical stress and lead to bleeding ulcers in the stomach or duodenum.

4. Management of Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome:

   - Utilized in the treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, a condition characterized by excessive gastric acid production. Lansoprazole helps to control acid secretion and manage symptoms.

5. Helicobacter pylori Eradication (Adjunct Therapy):

   - Used in combination with antibiotics to eradicate Helicobacter pylori infection, which is associated with peptic ulcer disease.

LANSVIT for Injection is administered intravenously under the supervision of a healthcare professional, typically in a hospital or clinical setting. It provides rapid acid suppression and is generally used for short-term management of severe conditions when oral PPIs are not an option.
