Nicorandil for Injection

NICOTIV for Injection is used primarily for its vasodilatory effects. NICOTIV  is a potassium channel opener and nitrate that helps to dilate blood vessels and improve blood flow. The main uses of NICOTIV for Injection include:

1. Acute Coronary Syndrome:

   - Treatment of Acute Angina: Used in the management of acute angina (chest pain) associated with coronary artery disease, particularly when other treatments are inadequate.

2. Management of Heart Failure:

   - Acute Heart Failure: May be used to relieve symptoms of acute heart failure by reducing the workload on the heart and improving symptoms related to poor circulation.

3. Preoperative or Postoperative Management:

   - Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery: Sometimes used in the management of patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) to improve blood flow and reduce angina.

NICOTIV for Injection is typically administered intravenously in a clinical setting. It provides rapid vasodilation and relief of angina symptoms by relaxing smooth muscle in the blood vessels, thereby increasing blood supply to the heart muscle and reducing the heart's oxygen demand. Monitoring for side effects such as hypotension (low blood pressure) and headache is important during treatment.
