Noradrenaline (Norepinephrine) Injection

NORETIV Noradrenaline (Norepinephrine) injection is used for:

1. Treatment of Acute Hypotension: It is commonly used to treat severe low blood pressure (hypotension) that can occur in conditions such as septic shock, cardiogenic shock, or after a significant blood loss. It is a first-line treatment in shock management to help maintain blood pressure and ensure adequate perfusion to vital organs.

2. Cardiac Arrest and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS): Norepinephrine can be used during resuscitation efforts to restore and maintain blood pressure in patients experiencing cardiac arrest.

3. Vasopressor Support During Surgery: It may be used during or after surgery to maintain blood pressure in patients who experience significant drops in blood pressure due to anesthesia or other factors.

4. Support in Septic Shock: Norepinephrine is particularly important in managing septic shock, where it helps to increase blood pressure by causing vasoconstriction (narrowing of blood vessels) and improving cardiac output.

Mechanism of Action:

Norepinephrine is a powerful vasoconstrictor and a potent alpha-adrenergic agonist with some beta-adrenergic effects. It works by stimulating alpha-adrenergic receptors in the blood vessels, leading to vasoconstriction and an increase in blood pressure. It also has some beta-adrenergic effects that can increase heart rate and the force of cardiac contractions, helping to improve cardiac output in shock situations.
