Piroxicam Injection

PIROCTIV injection is used for:

1. Management of Acute Pain: Piroxicam injection is used to treat acute pain, particularly in musculoskeletal conditions like sprains, strains, and arthritis. It is often used when rapid pain relief is needed, and oral administration is not possible.

2. Treatment of Inflammatory Conditions: It is used to manage inflammation and pain associated with conditions like rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis.

3. Postoperative Pain Relief: Piroxicam injection can be used to control pain and inflammation following surgical procedures.

 Mechanism of Action:

PIROCTIV is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by inhibiting the enzyme cyclooxygenase (COX), which is involved in the synthesis of prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are chemicals that promote inflammation, pain, and fever. By reducing prostaglandin production, piroxicam decreases inflammation, alleviates pain, and lowers fever. Its long half-life allows for sustained pain relief, making it effective in managing both acute and chronic inflammatory conditions.
