Pralidoxime/ Protopam Chloride for Injection

PRITIV for Injection is an antidote used primarily to treat poisoning by certain toxic chemicals. The primary uses include:

1. Organophosphate Poisoning:

   - Nerve Agent Poisoning: Pralidoxime is used to treat poisoning from nerve agents (e.g., sarin, VX) by reactivating acetylcholinesterase, an enzyme inhibited by these agents, which helps reduce the toxic effects.

   - Insecticide Poisoning: Used to counteract poisoning by organophosphate insecticides, which work similarly to nerve agents by inhibiting acetylcholinesterase.

2. Carbamate Insecticide Poisoning:

   - Pralidoxime may be used to treat poisoning from carbamate insecticides, although its effectiveness in carbamate poisoning is generally less than with organophosphates.

3. Adjunctive Therapy with Atropine:
