Orphenadrine Citrate Injection

ORPETIV Orphenadrine Citrate injection is used for:

1. Muscle Spasms: It is primarily used to relieve muscle spasms and associated pain, particularly in acute musculoskeletal conditions such as sprains, strains, and injuries.

2. Pain Management in Musculoskeletal Conditions: Orphenadrine is used as an adjunct to rest, physical therapy, and other measures to relieve discomfort associated with painful musculoskeletal conditions.

3. Adjunct in Anesthesia: It may be used in some cases as an adjunct during anesthesia to help manage pain and muscle stiffness.

 Mechanism of Action:

Orphenadrine is a muscle relaxant that also has analgesic properties. It works by blocking certain nerve impulses (or pain sensations) that are sent to the brain. Additionally, it has anticholinergic effects, which contribute to its ability to relieve muscle spasms. Its exact mechanism of action in relieving muscle spasms is not fully understood, but it is believed to involve central nervous system pathways.
